Jan Groenveld was a major source of comfort to me when leaving the JW's. I was a member of Women-Awake, and was so very supportive and loving to me when I was pregnant and making my transition period sans parents.
Thank you, Jan.
i was just reading the "12 steps" thread and decided to start a new thread to give those of us who "knew" her-the chance to say what they'd like to share with all our newbies.
when i was in the process of knowing what the wts was all about, and not quite ready to make the break or tell people what i had discovered---jan took me under her large wing and helped me so much.
i can't tell you how many things she sent for me to read and how many emails she wrote to me as i plodded and trudged through my realization and pain of what i had dedicated my life to serving.

Cathy, you are so easy to love! How is it that I have surpassed you in my number of posts. You've been here for years! I must be a chatterbox or something.
Haha, congrats on your 666th (667th) post. Let's drink a beer to that one.
Fairchild, thank you. But I think I've had a little too much beer tonight. It's funny how easy those MGD's slide down when you're not paying attention. On the other hand...what the hell is one more? Cheers.
good morning fellow servants of the lord, and welcome!
lets all stand and sing song number #666 "our merciful god" .
*passes really big collection plate* .
Speaking of Handicapped people...
One time in Junior High, our Social Studies teacher was talking about Gandhi and this girl raised her hand and asked, "Isn't Gandhi the green clay guy with the horse??"
Do you think her confusion of Ghandi with our beloved Rev. would qualify as grounds for revoking her duties in the Church of Gumby?

the guy that shot 11 people, killing 7, in a church in wisconsin was apparently upset over a sermon he'd heard.
the sermon may not have been about the end of the world, but the church he attended taught that it was coming, and coincidentally, it was coming "soon".

Man! Wisconsin is sure in the news a lot lately! For bad stuff! Must be all the apostates here causing a demoralization of the cheese state.
